Privacy

The newsletter is the only place this site asks you to hand over personal data — your email, nothing more. A little technical data, such as your IP address, is processed automatically just to serve and secure the site; that is covered below. Nothing here is sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you.

The newsletter

• What is stored: your email address, plus a tag noting which page you subscribed from. There is no name field. Because the form submits directly to Buttondown, Buttondown receives your IP address and browser type at signup — as any web form does — but this site never stores your IP itself.
• Where it is stored: with Buttondown, a US-based email service, used only to send the issues you asked for — one to four times a month.
• Why it is allowed: you opt in by confirming your address in a follow-up email. That confirmation is your consent — withdraw it any time by unsubscribing, no reason needed.
• Unsubscribing: every issue includes an unsubscribe link in its footer. Unsubscribing stops all future email immediately.
• How long it is kept: your address stays on the list only until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it.
• Deletion: email me at hello@eveko.dev and I will remove your address from the list entirely — usually within a couple of days.

Analytics, error monitoring, and hosting

Beyond the newsletter, the site measures which pages get read and whether anything is broken, so the writing can improve and breakages get fixed. None of it uses cookies, follows you across other sites, or builds a marketing profile.

• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights are cookieless and measure which pages are read and how quickly they load. Vercel counts visitors with a short-lived identifier derived from each request; your IP address is not stored, and the numbers are aggregate and not tied to your identity.
• Sentry records a technical report when a page hits an error, so it can be diagnosed and fixed. It is configured not to attach your IP address and sets no cookies — a report holds the technical context of the error, such as the page URL and browser type, not who you are.
• Hosting: like any website, the host (Vercel) receives your IP address to deliver each page and keeps short-lived server logs for security and reliability. These are operational logs — not used to identify or profile you.
• On your device: the site sets no cookies. The only thing saved locally is your light/dark theme choice, kept in your browser and never sent anywhere.

Your rights, and who is involved

Buttondown, Vercel, and Sentry are the only third parties that touch any of this data, and all three are US-based; each processes it under its own data-processing agreement. Nothing is passed to advertisers or data brokers.

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use — just email me at hello@eveko.dev. If you are in the EU or UK and believe your data has been mishandled, you can also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.
